Vanhuddle is a community for van lifers and road travellers. These Community Guidelines explain how we expect people to behave on the app — in profiles, huddles (meet-ups), chat, direct messages, moments, and community moments.
By using Vanhuddle, you agree to follow these guidelines, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy. We may update them from time to time; the “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
Questions or reports: support@vanhuddle.com
Treat others the way you would want to be treated on the road.
Be friendly, honest, and considerate in messages and meet-ups.
Respect boundaries. If someone does not want to chat, join a huddle, or share location details, accept that.
Disagreement is fine; personal attacks, bullying, and sustained harassment are not.
Do not share private information about another person without their permission (for example, their exact location, phone number, or photos).
Huddles are real-world meet-ups. Your safety matters.
Meet in sensible public places when you can, and tell someone you trust where you are going.
You are responsible for your own decisions when meeting people from the app.
Do not pressure others to meet, share location, or move to private places.
If a huddle or person makes you uncomfortable, leave, block them, and report if needed.
In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.
Vanhuddle helps people discover each other; we do not vet users in person or guarantee anyone’s identity or intentions.
You control how you appear on the map.
Live, Pinned, and Hidden modes exist so you can choose what others see. Respect the choices others make too.
Do not use location features to stalk, track, or intimidate someone.
Do not publish another person’s real-time or precise location without consent.
People discovery and DM privacy settings are there for a reason — do not try to bypass them (for example, by using alternate accounts or off-platform pressure).
Use a real photo of yourself or a clear representation of you — not someone else’s image without permission.
Do not impersonate another person, brand, or organisation.
Keep bios and interest tags accurate and appropriate.
Huddle chat and direct messages must follow the same respect and safety rules as the rest of the app.
No spam, scams, phishing links, or unsolicited commercial messages.
No sexual content sent to someone who has not consented to receive it.
Share photos and text you have the right to share.
Community moments are visible to others in the community — post only what you are comfortable sharing publicly in that context.
Do not post content that is illegal, exploitative, or primarily intended to shock or harass.
The following are prohibited on Vanhuddle:
Category | Examples |
|---|---|
Harassment and bullying | Repeated unwanted contact, threats, intimidation, or targeting someone after they asked you to stop |
Hate and discrimination | Attacks on people based on protected characteristics (such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality) |
Violence and threats | Threats of violence, encouragement of self-harm or harm to others, glorification of violence |
Sexual exploitation | Non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual content involving minors, grooming |
Illegal activity | Content or behaviour that violates applicable law |
Fraud and spam | Scams, fake profiles, bulk unsolicited messages, misleading subscription or payment claims |
Dangerous or harmful conduct | Encouraging unsafe driving, trespassing, or other conduct that puts people at serious risk |
Intellectual property | Posting content you do not have rights to use |
This list is not exhaustive. We may take action on other behaviour that harms the community or the Service.
You have tools to protect yourself:
Block — Settings → Blocked users (or from a profile where available). Blocked users cannot message you in ways your settings disallow.
Report — Community moments can be reported if they break these guidelines. We review reports and may hide content or take action on accounts.
Support — Email support@vanhuddle.com for serious safety concerns, impersonation, or issues not covered in-app.
Reports are handled by humans when possible. False or malicious reports may themselves lead to action.
We want Vanhuddle to stay welcoming. When someone breaks these guidelines, we may:
Remove or hide content (for example, a community moment);
Warn the account holder;
Restrict features temporarily;
Suspend or permanently remove an account;
Report matters to law enforcement where we believe it is necessary.
We consider context and severity. Not every mistake results in a permanent ban, but serious or repeated violations will.
Account deletion: You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Account → Delete account. See our Privacy Policy for what that removes.
Vanhuddle Plus and other paid features are governed by App Store / Play Store terms as well as these guidelines.
Do not use the app primarily to advertise unrelated businesses, pyramid schemes, or high-pressure sales without our permission.
Hosts may organise huddles in good faith; do not misrepresent paid events as official Vanhuddle events unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
The Service is for users aged 16 and over. Do not use the Service if you are under 16, and do not contact minors inappropriately. If you believe someone under 16 is using the app, contact support@vanhuddle.com.
We may update these guidelines as the product grows. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised guidelines, to the extent permitted by law.
