These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and the operator of Vanhuddle (“Vanhuddle”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your use of the Vanhuddle mobile application and related services (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account, downloading, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Not legal advice. This document is written in plain language. It does not replace advice from your own lawyer.
The Service is for users aged 16 and over. You must not use the Service if you are under 16.
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your country.
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
You may not use the Service if we have suspended or removed your account, or if you are prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Vanhuddle is a social app for van lifers and road travellers. The Service may include, among other features:
profiles, interest tags, and optional profile photos;
a map and discovery tools for huddles (meet-ups) and, when you opt in, other users;
huddle hosting, joining, request-to-join flows, and huddle chat;
direct messages;
private trips and moments (notes and photos);
optional community moments shared in a community scope;
location sharing modes (Live, Pinned, and Hidden);
push and in-app notifications;
shareable huddle links; and
optional paid features such as Vanhuddle Plus (subscriptions).
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or in all regions.
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
Do not share your account or create accounts for others without permission.
Notify us promptly at support@vanhuddle.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete account (see our Privacy Policy for what deletion removes).
We may refuse registration, reclaim usernames, or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
You may submit content through the Service, including profile information, photos, messages, huddle details, moments, and community moments (“User Content”).
You retain ownership of your User Content. You are responsible for it and for ensuring you have the rights to post it.
To operate the Service, you grant Vanhuddle a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your User Content only as needed to provide and improve the Service, enforce these Terms, and comply with law.
This licence ends when your User Content is deleted from our systems, except where:
other users have lawfully received or saved copies (for example, messages they received);
we must retain data for legal, safety, or backup reasons (as described in our Privacy Policy); or
content has been shared publicly in a community scope and reasonable copies remain visible until removed or moderated.
User Content must comply with our Community Guidelines and applicable law. You must not post content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, exploitative, deceptive, or otherwise harmful.
Our Community Guidelines explain expected behaviour on the Service. They are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We may remove content, restrict features, or terminate accounts that violate the Guidelines or these Terms.
Location features are optional and user-controlled. You choose whether to use Live, Pinned, or Hidden sharing, subject to in-app settings and device permissions.
Huddles are real-world meet-ups between users. Vanhuddle helps people discover and coordinate meet-ups; we do not:
conduct background checks on users;
verify identities in person;
guarantee anyone’s conduct, intentions, or safety; or
supervise meet-ups.
You are solely responsible for your decisions when meeting people from the app, including where and when you meet, who you meet, and what you share. Use common sense, meet in public places when you can, and contact emergency services in an emergency.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vanhuddle is not liable for conduct or events that occur offline or outside the Service.
You may share links to huddles. People with a link may see limited preview information about a huddle (for example, title and general details) even if they do not have an account. Do not share links if you are not comfortable with that information being viewed by recipients.
Some features require a paid subscription (Vanhuddle Plus or similar).
Billing is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play (and managed via RevenueCat). We do not receive your full payment card number.
Prices, renewal, and cancellation follow the store’s terms and the in-app subscription flow. Cancel in Settings → Manage subscription or in your Apple ID / Google Play subscription settings.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by Vanhuddle directly.
We may change subscription features or pricing for new purchases; store rules apply to existing subscriptions.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — cancel separately through the store.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy.
Vanhuddle owns the Service, including the app, branding, design, and underlying software (excluding your User Content). You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
“Vanhuddle” and related marks are our trademarks. Do not use them without permission.
The Service integrates with third parties (for example, Supabase, Google sign-in, Apple sign-in, app stores, RevenueCat, and push notification providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
Links to third-party websites or services in the app are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, or remove content, if we reasonably believe you have:
violated these Terms or the Community Guidelines;
created risk or legal exposure for us or other users;
engaged in fraud, abuse, or illegal activity; or
been inactive for an extended period (where permitted by law).
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in Settings.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including licences granted for operational needs, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions) will survive.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
VANHUDDLE AND ITS OPERATORS AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) £100 GBP (OR LOCAL EQUIVALENT).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits. In those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is not permitted).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vanhuddle and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
your User Content;
your use of the Service;
your violation of these Terms or the Community Guidelines; or
your violation of any third-party rights or applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you may also benefit from mandatory protections of the laws of your country of residence.
We hope to resolve disputes informally first — contact support@vanhuddle.com. If we cannot resolve a dispute, courts in England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your home country.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice (for example, in-app or by email) where required by law.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines are the main agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Assignment. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign your account without our consent.
Apple / Google. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, additional store terms may apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the Service.
